월광애인 - 와호장룡 OST

이 곡은 곡 자체, 혹은 가수 Coco Lee가 좋기도 하지만 영화 와호장룡(2000)의 충격 때문에 잊지 못하는 곡이다.

이 영화는 중국 무협영화를 기존의 틀을 깨고 서정적이고 아름답게 그려내었다. 또 종국에는 영화의 주인공들 모두를 불행에 빠트리는 파격을 보여주었다. 영화는 옥교룡(장즈이)이 무당산 절벽 아래로 비장하고 아름답게 투신하고 끝나면서 Ending Credit이 올라가고 이 노래가 흐른다. 마치 이안 감독이 "봤지? 이게 내가 생각하는 중국 무협영화야, 그리고 슬프지?" 하는 것 처럼. 이 노래가 다 끝나도록 자리에서 일어나지 못했다.

영화에서 몇 장면이라도 비중있게 그려지는 인물 중 행복한 이는 아무도 없다. 이모백(주윤발)이 유수련(양자경)에게 "구도의 참선 끝에 그 끝을 보았는데 Enlightment(득도, 해탈)가 아니고 적막과 슬픔이었다"고 말하는 대목이 나온다. 이 장면에서 수련과 이모백은 이루어 지지 못할 것을 예감했다. 그런데 이안 감독은 그 정도를 넘어서 종국에는 모두를 불행 속으로 몰아 넣고는 영화를 끝낸다.
[깨알사족: 그나마 다행인 사람은 딱 하나 철대인네 집사(유태보?)다. 가장 비중도 작고 무술 실력도 형편 없지만 마눌을 얻어 챙겼다.]

영어 가사나 중국어 가사 모두 오글 오글거리지만 영화의 내용을 생각하거나 사랑하는 마음으로 들으면 애절하고 비장하다.

이안 감독은 최근에 Life of Pi로 다시 나를 놀라게 하다.
